POSITION OUTLINE

POSITION TITLE: Executive Director

NAME OF INCUMBENT:

SUPERVISOR: President – FFRC Board

SALARY RANGE: $34,276 - $47,446

POSITION OVERVIEW:

This position facilitates and oversees education and advocating activities for financial and homeownership counseling. It will conduct workshops and one-on-one counseling for low-income participants. Research and develop funding resources to support FFRC programs. Develop and maintain relationships with governmental agencies, financial intuitions and community service organization to further the goals of FFRC. Recruit, train and oversee volunteer counselors and education presenters.

RESOURCES INFLUENCED:

The position has indirect responsibility for program results and has direct influence on a program with an annual operating budget of $100,000.

REPORTING SUBORDINATES:

No subordinate employees currently report to this position. Volunteers will report to this position.

FFRC’s mission is to positively impact our community by providing life-changing financial literacy skills that will allow community members to grow into financially secure and responsible citizens and neighbors.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

This position incumbent primarily works in an office environment. Travel and setup may be required for training activities and regional meetings.

QUALIFICATIONS: (Education/Experience)

A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, business, mathematics, or law. Courses in investments, taxes, estate planning, and risk management also are helpful.

Or one or more of the following (may be achieved within the ability to obtain one within six months of hire):

Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA)

Certified Financial Planner (CFP)

Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC)

National Foundation for Credit Counseling certification

Credit Report Review certification

Reverse Mortgage certification

Two years experience working with a social service organization or other related fields dealing with the public.

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Proven ability to deal with people in high stress situations.

Self-starter and ability to prioritize tasks.

Knowledge of Real Estate, mortgages, foreclosure, and household budgeting.

Must be bondable and insurable under LHA fidelity coverage.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

PHYSICAL:

The position’s functions are performed both in and out of an office environment requiring lifting, bending or working in tiring positions.

MENTAL:

In addition to the mental skills required to understand policies, procedures and practices, the incumbent must be capable of maintaining a composed, professional attitude under pressure from employees, participants, and others. Position can include stressful situations related to participant supervision.

JOB DUTY OUTLINE:

Develop and present counseling for: Financial Literacy, Financial Management, Home Ownership and Mortgage Foreclosure Prevention.

Debt Negotiating and Advocacy.

Monitor participant’s progress in accomplishing the goals in their case plan.

Research and develop financial resources to support this program (including grant writing).

Develop and maintain a list of community resources and other referral sources, including mortgage company contacts. Present at these locations Mortgage Foreclosure Prevention Program, Foreclosure Prevention Workshops, Presentations, and other Community Outreach Events.

Create and maintain professional relationships with Realtors, developers, banks, etc. to assist program participants.

Refer program participants to existing, community based programs for skill development and educational opportunities.

Develop necessary policies, procedures and documentation to track program statistics and reporting to funders.
