The Authority serves the citizens of Longview and the unincorporated areas of Cowlitz, Lewis, Wahkiakum and Pacific Counties in Washington State, by providing affordable housing, housing subsidies, home ownership and self sufficiency opportunities.

Pacific Pearl Solar Project
The Pacific Pearl in South Bend, WA is getting a make-over. NWWind & Solar of Seattle is installing solar panels on the roof of the complex. NWWind & Solar has this project listed as one of their feature projects and has some great pictures of the work being done. Here is a link for the images.
Veterans
Longview Housing Authority has implemented the Veteran's Integration Program (VIP) for homeless veterans. The program consists of several levels of help including housing, casemanagement and employment. The VIP has also created a Veteran's Resource website so that veterans can find resources available in SW Washington. This website, VetSource.org ,lists all of the service providers in Cowlitz, Wahkiakum, Pacific and Lewis counties that a veteran might be in need of. The resources are listed by county and by resource and there is also a search feature on the site. So whether you are looking for food, clothing or a Veteran Service Office, look at VetSource.org first.

Financial Literacy and Education

MyMoney.gov is the federal government’s website that serves as the one-stop shop for federal financial literacy and education programs, grants and other information. MyMoney.gov is available in English and Spanish. 1-888-MyMoney is the federal government’s toll-free hotline accessible to the public seeking information about federal financial education materials. Information is available in English and Spanish.

The Washington Prescription Drug Program (WDPD) card is available now.

The WPDP offers discounts of about 60% on generic drugs and about 20% on brand name drugs. All prescriptions written by an authorized prescriber are eligible for a discount.
Enrollment forms are available on line at http://www.rx.wa.gov or by calling 1-800-913-4146. The card is free and every resident in the state of Washington is eligible for the card, regardless of age or income.
