"LHA awarded 200 NEW VOUCHERS 10/5/00!

10/5/00, Longview Housing Authority was notified they are the recipient of a grant for 200 new Section 8 Housing Choice Vouchers.  These Vouchers will be targeted towards the low-income, non-elderly disabled population.  "Safe and affordable housing should be available to every member of our community.  This grant will help people with disabilities access the housing opportunities they deserve," said U.S. Senator Patty Murray (D-Wash).  "I congratulate the Longview-Kelso community for receiving this important grant award."

"Longview Housing Authority Receives Regional NAHRO Award 5/2/2000"

Jon Dieter, LHA Family Self-Sufficiency (FSS) Coordinator, recently received the Nation Association of Housing and Redevelopment Officials (NAHRO) PRAIS Award for Innovative Service in Administration Innovation for his FSS Program Data Base System.

While the LHA's FSS program was on its way to adding staff and more than doubling the number of participants, it was limited by its system for tracking and reporting participant progress, as well as managing different program components.

Thru the combined effort of the staff, an innovative database system was developed that multiple users can utilize to track FSS participant activity, keep track of case manager contacts and escrows, and even print off contracts, Individual Training and Service Plans, and a wide range of program reports.

Congratulations Jon!
