MINUTES TO THE REGULAR MEETING
OF THE LONGVIEW HOUSING AUTHOURITYBOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
July 28, 2008
At the Longview Housing Authority Offices
1207 Commerce Ave., Longview, WA.

Chair B. Jo Brewer called the regular July meeting of the Longview Housing Authority Board of Commissioners to order at 4:00 pm on July 28, 2008.

Agenda
Review of Minutes for July 2008 Regular Meeting
Approve July 2008 Financial Statements and Vouchers as paid
Approve write-off of doubtful accounts in the amount of $1056.00

A motion was made by Commissioner Ostermiller and seconded by Commissioner Kosloski to approve Minutes for June 6, 2008. Motion Passed.

A motion was made by Commissioner Ostermiller and seconded by Commissioner Kosloski to approve financial statements and vouchers paid. Motion Passed.

A motion was made by Commissioner Ostermiller and seconded by Commissioner Kosloski to approve write off of doubtful accounts as modified. Motion passed.



and Secretary Report
Congressman Brian Baird will be in Longview to do a round table about housing on August 7 at the Cowlitz PUD from 11 am to Noon.
Family Reunification program with CPS and DSHS. Starting pilot program with additional THOR funds.
Chairperson Brewer reminded all Board members that direct contact with people involved in projects with LHA should be avoided if possible to avoid conflicts of interest and confusion. Refer such contacts to the Executive Director or her designee.
Stand Down reminder for September 12, we still need supplies to hand out to the Veterans

Business
BOARD DISCUSSION: LHA/FERC joint workshop. A public meeting was set for August 22, 2008 to discuss proposed strategies to utilize FERC’s 501.c.3. That date will need to be changed due to conflicts with the facilitator’s schedule. Chris Pegg will work on new dates in September and get back to the Board.
BOARD DISCUSSION: Dan Freedman presented an update on Development Projects.
Business
BOARD ACTION: Approval of revised banking Resolution 08-05
Motion was made by Commissioner Kosloski, seconded by Commissioner Ostermiller to approve revised banking resolution 08-05. Motion Passed.
BOARD ACTION: Approval to enter into contract with Department of Veterans Affairs for Per Diem funding.
Motion made by Commissioner Cox, seconded by Commissioner Kosloski to enter into contract with the US Dept. of Veterans Affairs for Per Diem funding. Motion Passed.
BOARD ACTION: Approve carry over of Secretary Chris Pegg’s Vacation hours for 30 days.
Motion was made by Commissioner Ostermiller, seconded by Commissioner Kosloski to allow Executive Director Chris Pegg, to carry over unused vacation hours for up to 30 days past her anniversary date of 08/01/08. Motion Passed.
BOARD DISCUSSION: Repairs needed for Stratford House Arms.
Katie Wilkie discussed repairs are needed to the Stratford Arms Building very soon. She estimates the will cost about $150,000.

of Next Meeting: Regular Meeting Date: August 25, 2008.

There being no further business to discuss, Chair Brewer adjourned the regular board meeting.
